Hi. I am back, with a simple good reason. That i will miss NCWO a lot, really a lot. Actually, i had no intention of posting. But, as i went around reading other people's blog, i felt that if i did'nt do so, it'll be a huge huge huge regret.

Tears are swelling in my eyes, seriously. Not for the fact that i have left the band. But for the fact that NCWO is progressing. I always wonder how the previous batch of seniors felt. Now, i know. I need not tell the whole world how marvelous NCWO is, just that we NCWO members know deeply in our hearts that NCWO means more than just a CCA, and that nothing else can replace NCWO.

Many things occured this year. From SYF'09 to 62nd school anniversay to our last band practice. Recalling the effort, time, passion, emotions and enthusiasm that we placed into practicing ' The Inn of The Sixth Happiness' and 'Overture No. 1 for Wind Band', i can say NCWO is indeed a strong and powerful band. Even though we did'nt managed to get what we want, but what's most important is the process. And the process had been special, an once in a life time experience.

We were struggling to find the feeling, the emotions to inject in our music making, but we found none. We panicked, as it was less than 1 month to SYF at that point of time. But on SYF'09 that day itself, we enjoyed ourselves fully on the SCH stage. Emotions were displayed like nobody's business and Goose Pimple Index (GPI) did shoot up by an enourmous amount.

Our next project then was 62nd school anniversay. Everyone was still so emo over the SYF but the school just had to give us a performance and expect us to be able to take part in the parade and the performance in the hall. It was high expectations, with little time given. But NCWO managed to do everyone proud. The 'beloks' were exceptionally torturous to us, but we managed to overcome the difficulty, and did a very very very good job on the actually day itself. On stage, we played 'Inn', and this was the last time the sec4s and 5s took part in an official performance. GPI hit its max, and everyone felt the music totally. Amazingly, although we did'nt had much time to rehearse, we managed to touch everyone's heart with our music making, under the baton of mr lum that day. We had to control ourselves from crying, but eventually, a few broke down, and starting crying from romantic interlude (2nd movement).

Yesterday, being the last practice for the sec 4s and 5s of 2009, i told myself not to cry. Guess what, I eventually did. Yesterday, was a great day to remember.

...

2006: It began with me, shuan and donovan. Sec 1s, so cute and innocent. We had to leave our shoes outside the band room. (At the corner where the fire hose thingy is) Blur blur enter band room.

2009: It ended with me, shaun and donovan. Sec 4s, still so cute but not that innocent. Placing on our shoes, We left the band room with pride and gratitude. Quoting what we said, " This was where it all began, as well as ended."

It is the end, as well as the start of a new beginning.

The juniors 'surprised' us with a cake, cookies and a celebration. The 'Barney song' started off again and hahas, tears began flowing out like a water tap with a screw loose. Cake eaten, songs sang, whipped cream smashed, lights out, gates locked, and that was the end of yesterday's last practice.

I really do not know how to phrase this but, i feel that it's time for some juniors to stand on their feet by themselves, and be independent. If your thoughts are still childish and immature, it's time for u to grow up, and act like an adult. I'm not saying that you juniors, are incapable. You are the best support to us seniors, we enjoy making music with u all, but as we're leaving, a new chapter is beginning. How this chapter is going to be written, depends on yourselves. A HAPPY ENDING ?

Some of you might be wondering, why is darren so wierd? Sometimes happy like siao, crazy like a madcow, sometimes, emo, quiet, sad. I would have to say, NCWO is the reason. NCWO propels my feelings. A lot of things had occured within the band, within my section, and thus, causing my emotions to run like musical notes on a manuscript. If there's anger or hatred, it should be resolved. If there's regret, dun look back, but rather forward and think of how to prevent such events from occuring.

Musicians are humans, we do err. But if we can work as a team, and put aside all unhappiness, we can achieve great things.

Please, my section mates, my band members. Do not quarel any longer. We as seniors wish to let bygones be bygones, we wish to leave the band confidently, with no regrets. We love all of you juniors, so don't break our hearts anymore.

We're passing NCWO to the next batch of leaders. Work hard, smart and together. As long as you all work as a team, nothing can stop u. NCWO is not to be triffled with ! So, sec 3s prove to us u can do it, prove to us that the next chapter of the story has a glorious plot, with exciting scences, and wonderful characters.

Acting leaders, if u do face difficulties, please do approach your seniors. I am sure that the seniors are willing to help out.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the sec 4s and 5s this year. Without all of you, I would not have been able to progress this far. Without the coordination of all the respective departments, respective personels, noting would successful would occur. Thanks Mr Png, Mr Lum, Mdm Yeo, Miss Heng, Mdm Nurhaida, senior majors, majors, band commandant, Librarians, Quarter masters, Welfare officers, secretaries, Uniform officers, Recruitment officers, Section leaders, Asst section leaders, and every single member of NCWO. I LOVE ALL OF YOU, and thanks for allowing me to have such a wonderful experience in music making, in NCWO.
